Development and design of a thought piece and it's subsequent trade show activation. Based on the concept of Future-Back planning (imagining all possible futures and planning backwards) the title and art direction tells a story of how technology is rapidly changing our futures and economies, in the age of change.
Fragmenting the different identities of leading regional currencies, I created distorted visions of competing economies that create a sense of unease, with partially revealed faces of powerful figures.
Creating hi-res graphics from money required detailed image manipulation and AI enhancement to get around the limitations when reproducing images of currency. The challenge increased when creating printable versions of hybrid notes.
To accompany the report, I created a gift set, including a framed piece of artwork and tote bag, from a series of x3 designs, creating a further sense of luck and uncertainty in each bag.
Isolating the engravings of luminaries from each currency I was able to create tessellations that slide faces over each other, in a provocative manner.
The activation was successful and the merchandise was a hit with attendants, running out before the end of day.
